If you've ever dreamed of living on a sailboat, or doing an ocean race on a sailboat, you should read this book. If you've never even thought of any of that, you'd still enjoy this tale of a midlife woman daring to change her life completely. The voyage includes exciting adventures, drunken hijinks, sexy doings with handsome blokes, and it's all set against a backdrop of jet-setting travel to exotic places, and delivered with plenty of laughs. What's not to like?

This book should come with a disclaimer: “Side effects may include spontaneous wanderlust, sudden distaste for cubicles, and an urgent need to learn how to tie nautical knots.” By chapter three, I was ready to quit my job, buy a compass, and pretend I know port from starboard. Highly recommend for anyone who’s ever stared at an office wall and thought, “There’s got to be more than this.” Spoiler: there is. It involves a boat.
